Dr Jason Cassar is a Brisbane-based ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon specialising in retinal conditions including macular degeneration, retinal detachment and diabetic eye disease, as well as complex cataract surgery. He consults at Sunnybank Eye Doctors in Brisbane.
He is a highly regarded and experienced cataract surgeon with formal sub-speciality qualifications in medical and surgical retinal conditions. Dr Cassar completed his ophthalmic training in Queensland before undertaking two years of additional specialist vitreo-retinal and medical retina training in the United Kingdom. These fellowships allowed him to obtain extensive experience in in vitreo-retinal surgery, laser and injectable medicines. He also obtained additional training at the prestigious Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, in leading edge treatments for macular disease.
