Dr Jason Cassar is an established ophthalmologist who has been providing expert ophthalmological care in the McCullough Centre in Sunnybank for more than 10 years.
He is a highly regarded and experienced cataract surgeon with formal sub-speciality qualifications in medical and surgical retinal conditions. Dr Cassar completed his ophthalmic training in Queensland before undertaking two years of additional specialist vitreo-retinal and medical retina training in the United Kingdom. These fellowships allowed him to obtain extensive experience in in vitreo-retinal surgery, laser and injectable medicines. He also obtained additional training at the prestigious Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, in leading edge treatments for macular disease.
Dr Cassar specialises in retinal detachments, macular hole, epiretinal membrane, vitreous haemorrhage, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, cataract surgery, retinal tears (flashes & floaters), retinal vein occlusions and macular oedema.
